In this week's spectrum transactions, SoniqWave leads off with two new lease applications for licenses controlled by the Church of God covering Las Cruces and Farmington NM.  The remaining transactions involve T-Mobile leasing individual channels from 31 licenses to TPT SpeedConnect.  In most cases, TPT SpeedConnect  is receiving the BRS video channels (E4, F4) along with BRS1 and/or BRS2.  TPT SpeedConnect seems to be a new company/management team that has acquired the spectrum assets from SpeedConnect.

FCC Transactions from July 15, 2020
This week's FCC transactions start with Aeronet Wireless filing to acquire nine EBS licenses in Puerto Rico that they currently lease.  Verizon filed an application to acquire 2 complete AWS-3 licenses and 4 partial AWS-3 licenses from Advantage Spectrum. Verizon is receiving AWS-3 spectrum in 18 North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas counties from the partial AWS-3 licenses. Kuduz Networks filed to acquire a 700MHz B block channel in Georgia.  SoniqWave filed to acquire 1 BRS license covering Idaho Falls ID and 1 EBS license covering Columbia GA.  Both licenses are new to SoniqWave.  T-Mobile also filed to acquire an EBS license in Pennsylvania.  This license was previously leased by T-Mobile, although the lease is not seen in the FCC's system, it is noted in the substantial service comments.  The final transaction provides Wisper ISP access to the 700MHz guard band channel in Bond county, IL.

FCC Transactions from July 8, 2020
In this week's FCC transactions AST Telecom (BlueSky Wireless) filed to acquire 6 licenses from Smith Bagley, each covering American Samoa.  AST Telecom will receive 5 - 600MHz licenses and the AWS-3 J block license.  T-Mobile filed 5 assignment applications and 1 new lease application.  Each of the assignment applications is for educational spectrum that they already lease.  The new lease application is for a call sign in Hawaii that they also currently lease.  Mark Twain Communications filed an assignment application to acquire an EBS call sign that they currently lease.  This will provide Mark Twain permanent access to 3 EBS channels in eastern Missouri.  In the final application, Wisper ISP filed a new lease for an EBS callsign in northeast Arkansas, which they previously leased.

In this week's FCC transactions there are several large groups of similar transactions.  T-Mobile filed 53 new lease applications with South Carolina Education Television.  South Carolina Educational Television controls almost all of the educational licenses in South Carolina.  T-Mobile currently has leases for all of these call signs.  T-Mobile also filed new lease applications for one additional South Carolina EBS license and one Texas EBS license and an assignment application for an EBS licensee in Florida.  Point Broadband Fiber filed new lease applications to utilize BPC Spectrum's 700MHz guard band channel in 11 Ohio counties.  Similarly Wisper ISP filed to lease BPC Spectrum's 700MHz guard band channel in 12 Illinois counties. Wisper ISP also filed 2 new lease applications for EBS spectrum in Missouri.

In this week's FCC transactions, Nsight Spectrum (Cellcom) filed to acquire 15 - 28GHz licenses in Michigan and Wisconsin. A map of these licenses is below. These are primarily licenses that Broadband One held prior to Auction 102.  Broadband One retains 425MHz of spectrum in most of these markets since they owned both channels of the 28GHz spectrum.  T-Mobile also filed to acquire the EBS spectrum just outside of Atlanta from Coosa Christian School.  They previously leased this spectrum.  The final two transactions for this week involve Wisper ISP submitting new leases for 2 EBS call signs outside of St, Louis.  Wisper previously leased both of these licenses.

In this week's FCC transactions we are seeing applications by commercial carriers to acquire EBS spectrum licenses from educational entities.  These are the first transactions since the new FCC rules went into effect on April 28, 2020.  Adams Telcom has filed to acquire 5 licenses covering western Illinois.  Adams Telcom is currently leasing each of these licenses.  SoniqWave Networks filed to acquire both EBS and BRS  licenses in the Yuma AZ / El Centro CA area.  SoniqWave is receiving 4 BRS licenses and 4 EBS licenses from BeamSpeed.  T-Mobile also filed to acquire an EBS license in Illinois from Midstate College. In New Mexico, Church of God, New Mexico is acquiring an EBS license from Victory Christian Academy.  Verizon filed to acquire an AWS-1 license in North Dakota from Reservation Telephone. The final transactions involve a new lease from Access 700 to West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative.  The Cooperative will receive access to the 700MHz guard band in 5 Kentucky counties.

In this week's FCC transaction, we are beginning to see spectrum trades between AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile in the PCS and AWS-1 bands.  Below the transaction list, we have provided a Spectrum Grid view of the Rochester-Austin-Albert Lea BTA, where you can see that Verizon is assigning the D block channels that AT&T doesn't control to AT&T along with their E block channels.  In return Verizon is receiving C block channels from AT&T.  The second Spectrum Grid view details what the ownership will look like once these transactions are finalized.  In our opinion, this is a middle stage to the final Spectrum Grid view, where Verizon and T-Mobile exchange 5MHz blocks of the A block and G block and AT&T and T-Mobile exchange the F block and D block.  In the final "forecasted" configuration, T-Mobile has 35MHz of contiguous spectrum, AT&T has 10MHz, and Verizon has 20MHz.
In addition to the major carrier spectrum trades, SoniqWave filed to acquire the BRS H3 channel and T-Mobile file to lease 4 EBS channels surrounding Tallahassee FL.

FCC Transactions from April 29, 2020
 In this week's spectrum transactions, AT&T and Smith Bagley filed to swap spectrum in several New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah markets.  AT&T is acquiring PCS, 700MHz, and AWS-1 spectrum from Smith Bagley and Smith Bagley is receiving AWS-1 spectrum from AT&T.    AT&T is also acquiring most of the 24GHz licenses held by Skyriver Spectrum & Technology.  Skyriver held some of these licenses before the 24GHz auction and purchased the others during the auction.  Verizon filed to acquire three AWS-1 licenses from Grand River Communications and Green Hills Cellular increasing their spectrum ownership in Missouri.  Peoples Telephone filed to acquire two 24GHz licenses from Horry Telephone. These licenses provide Peoples Telephone with one channel of 24GHz spectrum in both the Paris and Tyler TX PEA markets.  USCellular has also filed to acquire millimeter wave spectrum licenses from Broadband One.  USCellular is acquiring their 28GHz spectrum in the northwest and the upper mid-west.  T-Mobile has also filed to lease an EBS license in South Texas, providing it with an additional 24MHz of spectrum.  The last transaction involves the Nevada Gold Mines leasing ATNI's spectrum for the mine's operating area in northern Nevada.

In this week's FCC transactions, Verizon has filed to acquire two cellular licenses from Central Louisiana License Co. and two licenses from TX-10 License Co providing additional cellular spectrum to Verizon in Texas and Louisiana.  Below are maps that indicate the licensed counties for both Central Louisiana and TX-10 and the last map indicates Verizon's cellular spectrum in the Texas and Louisiana area.  With the Central Louisiana purchase, Verizon will have one band of cellular spectrum in 6 counties, and they will have both bands in four (Louisiana) counties.  With the TX-10 License Co. purchase Verizon will have one band of cellular spectrum in 4 Texas counties and 5 Louisiana counties.  In the remaining Texas and Louisiana counties Verizon will control both cellular spectrum bands.  In the final transaction, Matthew Ache is being assigned a BRS license covering South Bend, ID from an estate.

In this week's FCC transactions, Pioneer Telephone and United Wireless have filed to acquire 600MHz spectrum in Garden City KS from Panhandle Telecommunication.  Pioneer and United will share the 600MHz G channel with United Wireless receiving 1 county and Pioneer receiving 12 counties while United receives all 13 counties for the 600MHz E and F channels.  Sprint has filed 9 new lease applications.  One of those applications was for an expired lease they previously controlled while the remainder were for leases currently under their control.  These leases cover Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia.  Michigan Wireless continued to file leases to provide them access to AT&T's spectrum outside of AT&T's current network coverage.  The filed leases cover portions of 15 Wisconsin counties.  Also in this week's transactions, Puloli filed to lease the 700MHz Guardband from BPC Spectrum in Jacksonville FL and Sagebrush Cellular filed to lease Verizon's 700MHz spectrum in three Montana counties.

In this week's spectrum transactions, Michigan Wireless has filed leases to access AT&T WCS spectrum in five Wisconsin counties.  The A and B channels are both necessary to utilize a 10MHz LTE channel in the WCS band.  The remaining transactions are renewed leases for Sprint.  Sprint has filed to lease three licenses in Florida, two licenses in New Jersey, two in Pennsylvania, and ten in Oklahoma.
