AWS-3 Re-Auction: Available Market Information January 16, 2025 16:13
The FCC has begun a planning process to likely re-auction all of the AWS-3 licenses that have not been issued. The vast majority of these licenses were returned by SNR Wireless LicenseCo and Northstar Wireless when they were ruled ineligible to receive auction bidding credits.
The auction will likely include 200 market licenses, which includes licenses that were not purchase during Auction 97. Below is a high level breakdown of the available licenses by channel.
To assist you in understanding the range of markets that will be available, we have compiled a tabular and a mapping overview into the available channels and markets.
The re-auction market information includes an Excel file which contains the source for each market (returned or unauctioned), market code, market name, channel block, total spectrum and a 2023 estimated MHz-POPs quantity.
